About us

My eQuals is the official tertiary credentials digital platform for the higher education sector, students and verifiers. It is a pan-pacific solution providing easy, secure access to certified, official qualification records for New Zealand and Australian universities and their learners.

My eQuals was conceived in 2015 as a combined New Zealand and Australian higher education sector response to the Groningen Declaration and its commitment to Digital Student Data portability. The entity recognised the need for higher education institutions to have an easy and secure place to issue and manage official credentials for their students and graduates. It also recognised the need for those learners to have an easy and secure place to view and share the same credentials in a way that they could be easily verified by employers, recruitment professionals and verification agencies.

The level of participation My eQuals has achieved makes it a world leader. It has already inspired similar initiatives elsewhere, replicating the collaboration model and using the same proven technology platform. My eQuals currently serves more than 50 education providers across New Zealand and Australia including all the major universities. More than 5.7 million documents have been issued on the platform and there are more than 1.6 million students and graduates registered.

My eQuals is managed by HES, a not-for-profit subsidiary of Universities Australia. This appointment was made by the participants of My eQuals in 2017.

The My eQuals platform is powered by Digitary CORE. Digitary is a world leader in digital credentials and certification, allowing people to share secure online credentials for academic achievements.

The Groningen Declaration Network is an international, non-profit and voluntary network that supports academic and professional digital credential mobility so that citizens worldwide are able to consult and share their authentic educational data autonomously, with the expectation of fair recognition. It does this by bringing together stakeholders from across the global Digital Student Data Ecosystem.
